Trailer Release: In the Starlight

A few years ago, French filmmaker Mathieu Le Lay reached out to me with the idea for a film. Little did we know that the journey to capture footage would take us to the top of Mt. Whitehorn here in the Canadian Rockies, twice to the remote glaciers and fjors of Greenland and to the desert dunes of Namibia. I’m thrilled to finally be able to share the trailer of the film, which premieres on Ushuaïa TV this month. Follow In the Starlight on Facebook for updates on more screenings!

There is no wilder place on Earth, nowhere more remote, more inhospitable.

So, please allow me to share 16 images that are special to me, as well as the stories behind them. These are not necessarily images that others liked or that made a killing on social media, but they’re shots that got me fired up creatively. Enjoy!

INDLANDSIS

Back in September, I had the opportunity to spend a few days with French filmmaker Mathieu Le Lay on the Greenlandic icecap to shoot segments for his upcoming film, In the Starlight. While plans are in the works for him to join me to shoot both here in the Canadian Rockies and in other international destinations this upcoming year, Mathieu has released this short film in the meantime. Here are some “behind the scenes” from our days spent amidst, ice, auroras, indigo waters and icebergs.
