This is the beautiful, heavily-glaciated south face of Gyachung Kang, in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Gyachung Kang has the distinction of being the highest peak in the works that is not an 8,000er, making it an obscure mountain despite its size and aesthetics. A mere extra 48 metres in elevation would have guaranteed Gyachung Kang eternal fame among the likes of Everest and K2!
