This is one of the last shots I will be posting from Nunavut. Then it is back to Nepal and the Canadian Rockies. One of things that struck me instantly in Auyuittuq National Park is how different the peaks all look from each other. There is Thor with its immense west face. The legendary Asgard with its cylindrical shape. Breidablik with its instantly recognizable glaciated slopes. And there is Mount Odin, shown here. Its black cliffs often deflect clouds and create this daunting atmosphere around the mountain. That evening I scrambled up above Windy Point to get a fabulous view of that true gem of the north. Mount Odin, Auyuittuq National Park, Nunavut.
