The kingdom of Mustang has only been open to foreign visitors for 20 years and largely retains its charm from centuries of isolation. Change is on the horizon however, and a road is currently being built through a region that traditionally had always been accessed by foot. The village shown here, Chele, is one of the last ones in the main valley of the Kali Gandaki that remains accessible only by walking. If you were planning on visiting Mustang, I suggest you get there before the area becomes one of the main entry points into China. Chele, Mustang, Nepal.
