Sea Ice Sculptures
Another quick series from winter in Nunavut. There is something I love about photographing parts of the landscape that are ephemeral, that will never occur again in the same way. Not just because of light, but also because the subject itself will never reappear in the exact same shape. Here in the mountains, glaciers and frozen waterfalls come to mind. Seawater also has its own artistic ways, as shown by these images of jumbled up sea ice in Frobisher Bay, just in front of Iqaluit. Iqaluit, Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada.
f/4.5, 1/30 to 1/50 exposures, ISO 250, all at 17.0mm on Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM, EOS 5D
