First Light at Floe Lake
Today’s Canadian Rockies fall photo spot is stunning Floe Lake in Kootenay National Park, or the entire Rockwall trail for the matter, which offers some of the highest densities of golden larches one can find anywhere in the mountain parks. This shot was taken on a morning I will always remember. I had spent the night sleeping on the shore under the stars on an unusually warm October night, and awoke to surreal alpenglow on the Rockwall. Mother Nature ended the morning show by turning the larches a bright golden colour with the sun’s first light. Floe Lake, Kootenay National, British Columbia, Canada.
