Inspired By: Craig Richards, Dave Brosha and Glen Boles
This is the latest post of a weekly series meant to highlight some of the fellow photographers who inspire me to get out and make photographs.
Inspiration… The overwhelmed photographer surrenders
Here we go for this week:
My local pick this week goes to Craig Richards. Over the years Craig has done a fantastic job documenting the many moods of the Canadian Rockies. Have a look at his impressive collection of black and white images here. Craig has done a lot of great things for the local photo community and is also currently the Curator of Photography at the Whyte Museum here in Banff.
Dave does some phenomenal environmental portrait work out of Yellowknife, NWT. He also has an impressive collection of night images. If you’ve never been to the very special place that is the north, check out Dave’s work. It’ll get you as close as you can without actually hopping on a plane.
I have long had admiration for Glen. Ever since I ventured on my first mountain forays I have been inspired by Glen’s spirit of adventure. It is mind-boggling how much climbing and photography Glen has accomplished throughout his time in the mountains of the west. Few people know our area like Glen does, and he has done a fantastic job documenting those decades of exploration. You can preview his Mountain Album here.
If you share my enthusiasm for these guys too, I’d love to hear from you. Or feel free to send in your suggestions of “inspiring photographers”. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.
